Thank you so much for checking out my Fawna Tote Bag pattern! By following this pattern, you’ll be able to create a 10”x10” tote bag (not counting strap length) featuring a sweet little intarsia crochet design. This pattern includes helpful pictures, full instructions, additional tips and tricks, and of course an easy to follow crochet graph/chart. To complete this project, you’ll need multiple skeins of medium weight 4 acrylic yarn in a variety of colors (a more comprehensive color guide will be provided within the pattern). You’ll of course need a crochet hook (I used my J-5.75 mm hook), as well as scissors and a yarn needle to weave in any loose ends and to sew all the pieces of your bag together. A measuring tape may come in handy as well!
This pattern will also include instructions for creating a fabric interior lining for your tote bag (totally optional!). If you choose to complete this step, you’ll also need approximately half a yard of fabric of your choice (you likely won’t use all of it, but I always like to have extra on hand), as well as a sewing needle and thread (or a sewing machine if you have one!).
This entire pattern is done using only the single crochet stitch (US terminology), so it may look intimidating but it is totally doable for beginners! The only daunting part of this pattern is all of the crazy color-switching, but I will provide plenty of tips and tricks for those who haven’t attempted intarsia crochet/chart-reading before.
